New $300-million-dollar cement factory opening in Uganda

President Yoweri Museveni is set to commission a 300-million-dollar cement factory in the northeastern sub-region of Karamoja.

The state-of-the-art plant is owned by Yaobai Cement Uganda and is located in Moroto District.

This landmark investment is set to reshape Uganda’s manufacturing sector, especially in cement production, as well as unlock new economic potential of Karamoja sub-region.

Uganda has vast commercial quantities of limestone in many areas. The new cement factory adds to Tororo, Hima, Simba, and Kampala Cement factories.
