The government of Ireland through its Africa Strategy Implementation Fund facilitated a 5 days training for 16 UIA officials
on Strategic Investment and Export promotion from 1st-5th February 2016 at Royal Suites Bugolobi.
The UIA Board is on its final stages of concluding a strategic plan 2016-2021 which is all about job creation. “We want to believe that however high we raise our stakes, the officials that have got this capacity training will measure.” said Prof. Jalobo Piwang as he accentuated on UIA’s drive to attracting investment in the county.
Donal Cronin, the Irish ambassador to Uganda appreciated IDI for the long steady partnership and for facilitating the capacity building
training for UIA officials. “Ireland believed in “green hills” not red tape when it comes to the case of doing business for investors” he added.
The ambassador thanked the principle trainer Mr. Brendan McDough for making his trip to Uganda to share knowledge that will increase on the number of Irish businesses in Uganda.
Similarly, UIA’s ED Eng. Dr. Frank Sebbowa congratulated his staff members on completion of the training
and encouraged them to use the expertise gained to develop viable targeted projects for the Irish potential investors in order to increase trade and investment inflows between the two countries.
UIA is beginning to implement a new strategy in attracting and facilitating investment a drive facilitated by Multi representative board of directors, chaired by Mr. Juma Kisaame, affirmed ED.
