UIA, Standard Chartered Bank hold Investor Summit focusing on financial solutions for investors

The Uganda Investment Authority (UIA) and Standard Chartered Bank Uganda held an engagement meeting with Investors focusing on collaborations that propel investments in Uganda.

The H2 2023 Investor Summit attracted over 100 Investors from various sectors – from fintech to manufacturing. It focused on issues like market insights, individual investment opportunities, investments for corporate and government institutions, and investment financial solutions.

Opening the Summit, UIA Board Member, Angelo Izama, said the Summit is a demonstration of meaningful collaboration which increases participation, multiplication of value chains, and reduces business risk of failure.

The CEO of Standard Chartered Bank, Sanjay Rughani, said as a bank they are committed to offering financial solutions to Investors in order to thrive. He said collaboration with UIA is crucial in promoting investments.

Standard Chartered Bank is involved in financing of the massive infrastructure development in Kampala Industrial and Business Park, Namanve.

The Board Chair of Standard Chartered Bank, Maria Kiwanuka, said Uganda has a lot of resources and is full of investment opportunities that should be tapped.

“Let’s not just talk but act. Let’s invest in the various sectors, and do value addition. Let’s go seize the investment opportunities”, Kiwanuka said.
