The Uganda Investment Authority (UIA) has been recognised with the prestigious Greenfield Foreign Direct Investment Award at the Go Global Awards 2025 held in London, United Kingdom.

This achievement recognises UIA’s outstanding leadership in attracting new, sustainable, and high-impact investments that continue to shape Uganda’s economic future.

The Go Global Awards are organised by the International Trade Council (ITC). This prestigious program brings together 500+ high-growth companies, SMEs, multinationals, government officials, foreign direct investment agencies, venture capitalists, and industry leaders across sectors.

The Go Global Awards serve as ITC’s flagship celebration of business, innovation, and global market expansion. It celebrates businesses of all sizes excelling in international markets. Each year, it provides a platform for companies to showcase their innovations and achievements while gaining valuable exposure and credibility.

What sets the Go Global Awards apart is its ability to bridge the gap between private enterprises and government entities, bringing together more than 500 companies from across various industries and over 76 government agencies.

This unique blend of participants enables businesses not only to be recognised for their success but also to collaborate with government bodies on export promotion, foreign direct investment, and international trade compliance initiatives. The awards program fosters an environment where businesses can establish valuable partnerships, drive growth, and explore new market opportunities.

The Go Global Awards provide a dynamic forum for networking, knowledge-sharing, and business development, with the ultimate goal of enhancing international trade relations and fostering sustainable business practices globally. This makes the awards not just a celebration of success but a catalyst for long-term business growth and collaboration on the world stage.

This is the second award UIA has won in a space of one month. On October 22, UIA won the prestigious Special Least Developed Countries (LDC) Award at the WAIPA Investment Excellence Awards 2025, held during the World Investment Conference in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates.

The award by the World Association of Investment Promotion Agencies (WAIPA) recognises the outstanding achievements of UIA in attracting foreign direct investment (FDI), facilitating investment, promoting economic growth, and sustainable impact.

UIA entered five interesting investment projects: the Women in Business (innovative investment promotion), Modern Tiles (excellence in investment facilitation), Amafh Macadamia Farm (sustainability), Zembo Electric Bikes (excellence in aftercare), the Presidential Investor Roundtable (voice of investors), and Rising Woman (annual report).

Other IPAs that received the award after UIA are ANAPI from the Democratic Republic of Congo and Tanzania Investment & Special Economic Zone Authority.

The Special Least Developed Countries (LDC) awards are given by WAIPA to recognise outstanding achievements by Investment Promotion Agencies (IPAs) from LDCs.

The WAIPA Investment Excellence Awards highlight innovative practices in investment promotion and sustainable development within these countries.
