Rising pressure on land in Uganda as a result of increase in population and increased appetite for investment especially for agriculture production and processing have led to increased conflicts over land, unfair land tenure rules and modifications in land laws.
Uganda Investment Authority in partnership with GIZ, Ministry of Lands and Urban Development and District local governments, developed a comprehensive set of capacity-building materials, focused on responsible governance in investment in land, aimed at addressing insecurity in legal relations. These resources also aim to empower stakeholders, in navigating the complexities of land-related investments with transparency and accountability.
This collaborative effort underscores Government`s commitment to facilitate investments as well as foster sustainable development by providing tools and knowledge that promote responsible practices in land investment. By leveraging the expertise of the partnership, it is believed that these materials will contribute significantly to building a resilient foundation for sound investment decisions, ensuring long-term benefits for both investors and local communities.
We invite you to explore these materials on the website of partners, confident that they will serve as valuable resources for enhancing responsible governance in land investment. Together, let us strive for a future where investments are not only financially rewarding but also ethically and socially responsible.
