President Yoweri Museveni has reaffirmed Uganda’s openness to foreign direct investments in its mineral and petroleum sector.
Speaking during the inaugural Uganda-China (Liaoning) Mining and Petroleum Investment Promotion Conference in Shenyang, China, last week, President Museveni said Uganda is stable, open, and eager to work with long-term partners who are welcome to be part of its transformation journey.
The conference attracted top industry and government leaders from both Uganda and China.
The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development, Irene Pauline Bateebe, said Uganda is blessed with a wealth of mineral and petroleum resources and is actively seeking investors in the sector.
