Prime Minister Nabbanja urges UAE investors to come to Uganda

The 2024 United Arab Emirates-East Africa Trade Mission was held on November 13, 2024, in Kampala, Uganda, with a call to the governments and business leaders to strengthen investment and trade ties.

Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja, in her speech by the Minister of Trade, Industry, and Cooperatives, Francis Mwebasa, said the UAE is a vital market for Ugandan exports, citing the two billion dollars in exports in 2023.

The Prime Minister said the UAE is also a key source country for foreign direct investments in Uganda totaling three billion dollars in manufacturing, energy, infrastructure, healthcare, agribusiness, construction, real estate, and oil and gas.

She said investors and businesses in the UAE know firsthand how Uganda is good for investment and business, citing the country’s vast investment and business opportunities.

The Prime Minister encouraged more UAE investors to come to Uganda and take advantage of the various investment opportunities and favourable economic policies.
