Contract for feasibility studies of Kisoro and Jinja industrial parks signed

The Uganda Investment Authority (UIA) has today signed a contract with Abubaker Technical Services and Lagan Group for conducting feasibility studies for Kisoro and Jinja Industrial and Business Parks.

UIA was represented by the Director General, Robert Mukiza, Lagan by Eng. Andrew Bemanya, and Abubaker Technical Services by its Managing Director, Hajji Abubaker Kalema.

In his remarks, Mukiza said signing of contract for feasibility studies for the two industrial parks is a milestone in the establishment of 25 industrial parks across Uganda as directed by H. E. The President.

Mukiza thanked Lagan and Abubaker Technical Services for partnering with UIA in the quest for industrialization of Uganda. He said they should ensure at least 80 percent of the study teams are Ugandans.

Lagan’s Bemanya said they are happy to partner with UIA in its industrialization agenda. He said they plan to conclude the studies within three months.

The feasibility studies will pave way for development of the two industrial parks. Kisoro is located in Kigezi in southwestern Uganda, while Jinja is located in Busoga.
