The State Minister of Finance (Investment and Privatisation), Evelyne Anite, has had a whistle-stop tour of Kampala Industrial and Business Park (KIBP) at Namanve and Liao Shen Industrial Park in Kapeeka to assess progress on various industrial establishments.
At KIDP, Minister Anite toured the Burhani LPG Cylinder factory, going through the entire production chain. According to the factory’s chief executive, Prashant Bhatia, the factory produces 1,000 gas cylinders daily.
Minister Anite expressed happiness with the factory stressing that the government will do all it can to support its growth.
After Namanve, Minister Anite visited the Liao Shen Industrial Park in Kapeeka, which now has four operational industries – for food products and garments – with many others under construction.
Only in its second year, the Kapeeka industrial park is a marvel, and is already transforming the neighbourhood.
UIA, in liaison with other agencies, provides facilitation services to the industrial park like supply of stable electricity and industrial water, in addition to dealing with other emerging bottlenecks.
The minister was accompanied by the acting Chair of the UIA Board of Directors, Mr. Morrison Rwakakamba, Board member Dr Godfrey Byamukama and the acting Director General Mr. Lawrence Byensi.
