The Uganda Investment Authority (UIA) is the chief investment promotion agency of the Government of Uganda. The Authority is mandated to coordinate, encourage, promote, attract, and facilitate investment in Uganda and advise the Government on investment policy and related matters as enshrined in the Investment Code Act, Cap 74.
Section 22 of the Investment Code mandates UIA to issue an Investment Certificate or License to both Domestic and International Investors who meet the satisfactory requirements. (See details at www.ebiz.go.ug )
Issuance of an investment license is FREE OF ANY CHARGE! The Authority does not charge an applicant any fee for the license.
To apply online:
- Create an account on www.ebiz.go.ug
- Log in to your account
- Select “New Application”
- Choose “Investment License” and complete the required fields.
- Upload the required documents (listed from 1-6) in PDF format, ensuring they do not exceed 2MB each.
Alternatively, visit the UIA ONE-STOP CENTRE located on the ground floor of the Uganda Business Facilitation Centre (see address and contacts below).
