Uganda is set to participate in the East Africa Trade and Investment Expo scheduled from the 16th to the 17th of April, 2025, in Muscat, Oman.

The Expo seeks to foster trade and collaboration between East Africa (including Uganda) and Oman, aligning with the mission of strengthening trade and investment between the Sultanate of Oman and Uganda.
The Expo will feature products and services from key sectors such as agriculture, manufacturing, energy, construction, technology, and consumer goods.

A delegation from Global Digital Technologies LLC, organizers of the Expo, paid a courtesy call to the Uganda Investment Authority to discuss the Expo’s opportunities, explore potential investment and collaboration opportunities from Uganda, and explore avenues for collaboration with Oman.
The delegation was led by His Highness Al Sayyid Barghash Turki Saif Al Said, the Executive Chairman of Global Digital Technologies. He said: “I look forward to investment and trade opportunities between Uganda and beautiful Uganda. Oman is a gateway to expanding investment and business opportunities between Uganda and the Middle East”.
The acting Deputy Director General of Uganda Investment Authority, Martin Muhangi, said the initiative presents Ugandan businesses with an opportunity to access the Middle Eastern market, attract investment into more sectors, and deepen bilateral relations between Uganda and Oman.

The Honorary Consul of the Sultanate of Oman in Uganda, Ingah Atamba Kutesa, said, “We appreciate the Uganda Investment Authority’s ongoing efforts to advance trade and investment for Uganda’s development, and we are confident that this initiative will deliver substantive benefits for both Uganda and Oman.”

The CEO of Global Digital Technologies, Faiz Mohammed Al Shikely, said they are very impressed with Uganda’s potential, especially in agriculture. He hopes to see increased exports of Ugandan products to Oman.

UIA’s Deputy Director of Investment Promotion and Business Development, Ritah Mugula, said Uganda has lucrative investment opportunities in agriculture and value addition, manufacturing, tourism, mining, infrastructure development, and ICT. She encouraged Omani investors to come and invest in the country.
