Uganda-Egypt Economic Trade Forum focuses on new opportunities and partnerships

The Uganda-Egypt Economic Trade Forum took place in December 2024 in Kampala, Uganda. It aimed at fostering trade, investment, and bilateral partnerships between our two great nations.

In his remarks, the Chairman of the Board of Uganda Investment Authority, Dr. Robert Kyamanywa, said:  “Uganda is not just an investment destination; it’s a hub for trade and commerce. With access to a 300 million plus regional market and membership in key trade blocs, Uganda is your gateway to investment and trade opportunities. Thinking investment? Think Uganda”.

Dr. Kyamanywa said to date, the Uganda Investment Authority has licensed 67 Egyptian investment projects worth 236.5 million dollars, creating 5,356 direct jobs, reaffirming Uganda as the top choice for Egyptian investors.

The Chairman said Uganda is open for business and warmly invited Egyptian investors to partner with Ugandans “on this journey of growth and collaboration”, adding that “together, we can create a brighter future for both nations”. He pledged unwavering support to all prospective investors from Egypt.

The Director for East Africa at Egyptian investment, AGOF Logistics, Mohamed Elsheikh, said: “The Egypt–Uganda Economic Trade Forum reflects our shared commitment to driving economic growth and mutual prosperity, ensuring seamless movement is key as it is the bridge that fosters unity both socially and economically”.

The Chairman of the Egyptian African Businessmen’s Association (EABA), Dr. Yousrey El Sharkawi, said the forum serves as a cornerstone for strengthening bilateral ties between Egypt and Uganda.

“The forum provides a dynamic platform to explore new opportunities, deepen partnerships, and drive shared economic growth. Together, we’re building a brighter future!”, said Dr. Yousrey El Sharkawi.
