Progress on the Kampala Industrial and Business Park Infrastructure Project as at September, 2022

Applying Tack Coat on Road N-1 CH 0+480 to 0+720 FW

Physical Progress:

The Project commenced on 6th July 2020 and as at 30th September 2022, the registered physical progress at 30.5% – this covers progress on both works and designs.

In the quarter that ended 30th September 2022, the physical progress of road works was as detailed below:

In the 2nd quarter of FY 2022/2023, the Contractor shall continue with construction of the roads, finalise designs for Power, CCTV and Solar Street lighting. The Contractor shall also commence on the designs for the water supply system, the waste and solid waste facilities as well as the SME park.

Other Achievements:

  1. UIA commenced on payment of the Project Affected Persons (PAPs) under the Livelihood Restoration Plan and the last batch shall paid by the end of November 2022.
  • The UIA Project Management Team (PMT) is now technically constituted with the Project Manager, Project Engineer, Project Quantity Surveyor, the Project Architect and the Project Accountant are now fully mobilized onto the project.

Financial Progress:

Financial progress during this period was 15.41% for the Contractor and 21.584% for the outgoing Owner’s Engineer.

In conclusion, the management of UIA shall continue to ensure that all project challenges are addressed on time to ensure that the project is delivered within time, cost and scope.
