5 - Step Investment Process
The process of Investing in Uganda can be condensed to five major steps. The process is even shorter for existing domestic companies that may not require work permits.
Priority Sectors

the Investor One Stop Centre
The establishment of the One-Stop Centre by the Uganda Investment Authority through the amendment of the Investment Act, 2019 created a single access point for information and service transactions for investors.
Apply for an Investment License
Both foreign and domestic companies qualify for an investment license if they meet the threshold. Foreign investors must have a capital investment that exceeds US$ 250,000 and US$ 50,000 for domestic companies.
Application for an Investment License from the Uganda Investment Authority are fully automated and submitted online. After all required documentation is submitted and satisfactory, the license is issued within 48 hours at no cost.
